If I could spend 15 minuets with anyone it would be my favorite singer Jhene Aiko. Not only is she my favorite singer but I also look up to her for inspiration and guidance. Her "thing" is peace and love and she spreads it through her words. Her personality is easy going and she lives a go with the flow lifestyle. Aiko writes lyrics everyday usually in poem form first and eventually composes her writings into the lyrics of her songs. If I were with her for 15 minuets I honestly don't know what I would do. I wouldn't even plan for it because I know that I wouldn't stick to it.

Orwellian is a term first used to describe the writings of George Orwell and his ideas of a dystopian society. The society that Orwell described is way more tame than what our vision of a dystopia. The anti-utopian society that he wrote about already came true which is one where there is a government that constantly monitors what people are doing at all times and tries to control their actions. If someone from today would imagine a dystopia most people will think of concentration camps, genocide, and purging. That makes me think since his definition of dystopia came true whats stopping ours from.

My goal for this year is to be more healthy. Last year I ate fast food about 4-6 times a week and would only drink water every other day or sometimes every three days. This year I will at least drink 1 bottle a day and limit myself to only fast food 3 times a week or less. I will also go to the gym more often because last year I was paying for a membership but only going every other month. According to MindTools by visualizing what you want to do with your life in the next 10 years then it can help you break that long term goal into smaller and more obtainable ones. By using this process your long term goal will be easier and to achieve your long term goal. Another MindTools article states that if you set a goal the motivates you then its more likely to get accomplished.

When I was younger I was not very fond of reading. Actually, saying that I was not fond of reading was an understatement. I use to despise reading. I never had any bad experiences with it that led me up to the point of hating it so much. I just never really found it interesting until a few of years ago. When I started high school I had a lot of time to myself due to my friends and I starting to drift apart so I started to hang out in the library. Eventually I started to get more and more interested in books. Now I barely have time to read besides the time given to me in English class but I find it easier and more enjoyable to read alone.

How much of an American’s reality is shaped by the media?

One of the many things America is known for is pop culture. Whatever is trending here is most likely trending everywhere else in the world. The biggest outlets of pop culture is through media. Media allows people to communicate and express themselves to people around the world. But is it causing us more harm than good? More and more American youth want to find careers in media instead of wanting to be something that can help our nation better itself. Late Millennials and Generation Z are  especially being affected by media where people are more concerned about if Kim Kardashian's butt is real or not than how the super virus that was killing thousands of infants in India was found in America and might still be spreading.
Media is not always a bad thing though. Many American schools are making the switch from the old pencil and paper format to technology. These student are using media as a tool to learn and it is much more efficient than out of date textbooks. Now students have access to recent and constantly updating sources. They can sometimes also learn new things via social media depending on their interest.

What is beauty?

According to google beauty means "a combination of qualities, such as shape, color, or form, that pleases the aesthetic senses, especially sight." To many, beauty is something or someone pleasing to the eye. But, to me beauty is simply enjoying life. In the song "Black Beauty" by Lana Del Rey, there is a part that goes "Oh, what can I do? Life is beautiful, but you don't have a clue. Sun and ocean blue, They're magnificent, it don't make sense to you." I think about (and quote) this part of the song a lot when i'm feeling sad to remind me of the beauty in life. Even when everything feels like it's going wrong and you feel like you are alone just think about the happiest moments in life. Even an introvert like me enjoys the beauty that life has to offer.
